Call for Proposals

This call solicits proposals for the New Bern Face-to-face component of the conference. Presenters for the Virtual Sessions on March 31 and April 1 will be identified separately The NCDLA annual conference serves to further the advancement of and innovation in distance learning, teaching and technology. The conference offers educators an opportunity to participate in seminars, workshops and round table discussions on the topics and fields in which they teach. It offers attendees both a virtual and physical environment in which to discuss their ideas, best practices, opportunities and problems. The theme for the 2010 NCDLA conference is Blended Learning: The Transformation Begins. Blended learning is the implementation of multiple media types, different techniques and technologies, and varied resources to the learning process. The implementation is highly interactive and completely customized to the student’s needs. By its very nature, blended learning combines multiple instructional formats (face-to-face lectures, hands-on labs, the Internet, cell phones, emails, slide shows and audio lectures). Learners and teachers work together to improve learning and teaching quality, and in doing so, learning becomes a journey rather than a destination. Students learn how to learn, and they become independent thinkers with life-long learning skills. |
